I am a licensed Learning and Behavioral Specialist and Reading Specialist and have been working in the Special Education field for 26 years. I graduated in 1999 with my Bachelor of Arts/Science in Special Education from Illinois State University. In 2008, I completed my Master of Education in Literacy at The Citadel Graduate College in Charleston, South Carolina. I have had experience in a Special Education Cooperative setting as a Learning and Behavior Specialist, a private school setting as a Learning Specialist, and I am currently a Learning and Behavioral Specialist in a public high school setting. In addition, I am a fierce advocate for my two sons who are both on the autism spectrum.

In my current role, I am a case manager for students who have an Individual Education Program (IEP), facilitating meetings with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators. My goal is to collaborate with families and school teams to develop and implement meaningful goals to improve academic and behavioral outcomes. I am passionate about being transparent and empowering families to become more educated and authentically involved in the IEP process.

I provide individualized IEP review and consultation services for families, personalized to your child’s specific needs. I help you prepare for upcoming IEP meetings and evaluations, clarify the IEP timeline and process, and explain special education terminology. I also review and break down school and neuropsychological reports so you understand their significance and recommendations. My first priority is to learn where you and your child are in the process and to identify and prioritize the next steps. I thoroughly enjoy working with families in the community to support preparation, confidence, and overall involvement in the Special Education process. I am incredibly passionate about supporting students as both an educator and a parent.
